Highlights of some of our recent activities in the areas of Market Information, Export Development, Market Penetration & Diversification include:

• Developed and implemented market information systems and market databases for USAID funded projects in Albania, Sri Lanka and several African countries as well as for the Atlantic Canada Trade Mission. Trained stakeholders in producing monthly market information reports tailored to their needs.
• Conducted market studies for Sri Lankan entrepreneurs, the Caribbean Export Development Agency, the Government of Jamaica, the Lebanese Food Industry Association, Egyptian food processors, and the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE). Also conducted competitiveness and export promotion studies in Sri Lanka, Chad, Mali, the Ivory Coast, South Africa and Portugal.
• Conducted an assessment of the economic development of Antigua for the Antiguan Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism. Evaluated and made recommendations on the Government’s policies on investment, trade small business development and tourism.
• Assisted entrepreneurs and development projects in numerous countries with the introduction and export development, marketing, and promotion of specialty agri-business products to the U.S. market. This includes a large scale of sage from Albania in the latter part of 2003, as well as the introduction of items such as olive oil and gourmet foods from Egypt, Lebanon, and the Caribbean.
• Developed the overall marketing program for Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee, resulting in worldwide product identification and increased worldwide sales.
• Developed and implemented training programs on the general norms, requirements and terms for dealing in international trade, as well as specific norms and nuances of trading in the U.S. and Europe. We not only conduct study-tours, seminars, workshops and meetings, but also assist entrepreneurs on a one-to-one basis (Albania, Antigua, Canada, Egypt, Lebanon, Madagascar, and Sri Lanka).
• Conducted seminars on the new FDA Bioterrorism Act and its rules which went into effect on December 12, 2003. Act as agent – without payment when under USAID projects – for several exporters under the aforementioned Act for purposes of notification and advisement.
• Conducted numerous in-country seminars for thousands of food processors and exporters world-wide on various export marketing techniques including the use of trade shows as an export marketing vehicle for both the United States and European Union Markets, as well as the importance of sales promotion, packaging, and labeling.
• Developed and implemented seminars on niche market identification and product diversity. Identified international niche markets for 20 Canadian companies and potential buyers and secured meetings with those buyers.
• Provided advice to exporters (through seminars, workshops and one-to-one meetings) regarding the transport and export of their products to all markets.
• Designed and conducted a rapid assessment of the ecotourism potential in Great Himalaya National Park. Surveyed trails and attractions, identified infrastructure and resource management needs, made recommendations on policy, resource use, target market development, and business skills training for local communities.
